Project to Evaluate the Service Development and Reporting Framework Trial (Department of Health and Ageing, Office for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health, 2005)
Summary:
A two-staged evaluation of OATSIH’s Service Development and Reporting Framework (SDRF) pilot which was trialled in 34 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and substance use services across Australia.
Methodology: Interviews with participating services, OATSIH staff nationally and State government stakeholders, including on-site visits; assessment and analysis of materials and interview findings and recommendations for further rollout of the pilot.
The evaluation covered the production of SDRF Action Plans for 2004/2005 and Action Plan reporting for the period 1 July to 31 October 2004. The evaluation report was finalised in February 2005 and made eight (8) key recommendations. These recommendations included amendments to the SDRF Action Planning Manual, the addition of a Section B (new initiatives) to the Action Plan template, and a number of recommendations relating to staff and sector training and development, the integration of data collection mechanisms and expansion of the planning network to include State/Territory Government reporting.
